Job Title: Respiratory Therapist Profession: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics Specialty: RRT Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day 3x12-Hour or Night 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: Minimum 2 Years License: RCP - Respiratory Care Practitioner Certifications: BLS - Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider Must-Have: - Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program or equivalent experience - Certification and licensure as required Description: Administers medications and treatments and evaluates patient outcomes. Assesses patients for appropriate types and frequencies of treatment. Develops, implements, and coordinates the plan of care based on diagnosis. Educates patients and families about prevention and management of cardiopulmonary diseases. Provides information about community support groups and available programs. Monitors, records, and communicates patient conditions as appropriate. Performs all respiratory care modalities. Provides routine diagnostic modalities. Responds to emergency resuscitation team calls. Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology, chemistry, and physics is required. Knowledge of bedside pulmonary function testing, mechanics, and equipment is necessary. Knowledge of arterial puncture and blood gas analysis, equipment, and quality control is essential. Demonstrated familiarity with accreditation standards is preferred. Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment. Ability to work with minimal supervision is necessary. Must be able to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment. Must effectively communicate in English.
