Summary:This Position will perform Warehouse functions including but not limited to supervising--and directing warehouse employees, supervising the loading/unloading of trucks,--managing inventory, document verification, reconciling inbound PO's and general--warehouse management. The position works under the direction of the Plant Manager. Due--to the nature of the work this position may work alongside their material handler team to--accomplish daily warehouse goals. As a salaried position it is understood that during peak--season or based on company needs this role will need to maintain flexible hours to support and--direct their team.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Supervises activities of Material HandlersManage Material Handler coverage/hoursHire/Train/Discipline/Terminate employeesManage Master Cleaning Schedule for the WarehouseWrite/Manage/Update Work Instructions and/or SOPsManage & Own all inventoryParticipate in Manager Training and MeetingsServes as a back-up to Material Handlers during absencesFollow and enforce all company GMP'sFollow and enforce all Food Safety proceduresUtilize and enforce appropriate PPE for assigned tasksProvides training, guidance and motivation to Material Handlers dailyUnderstand and enforce safe operation of equipmentFollow and enforce safety proceduresPrepares and maintains forms used in daily/weekly/monthly warehouse activitiesReviews all documents prepared by Material Handler and follows up on issues in a--timely mannerReport all potential inventory shortages, problems with raw materials or problems with--finished goods to the Planning & Logistics CoordinatorEnsure correct tag labeling and storage procedures are being followed. All food or--ingredient containers must have a label which includes the item number, description of--contents, lot number, manufacturer/expiration date, and weight of contents for work in--progress products only--Prepares and sends communication to Plant Manager as neededAssists in preparing corrective action suggestions when warehouse targets are not metEnsure conformance to Warehouse Procedures and complete any assigned paperworkMonitor equipment usage and own warehouse equipment maintenanceNotify Plant Manager and Maintenance of any equipment that is not functioning--correctlyAdhere to and enforce company's code of conduct, GMP policy and all other internal--policies/proceduresEssential Skills and Qualities:Be reliable and dependable in attendanceForklift/PIT certified or ability to become certified within 14 daysValid motor vehicle license with good driving recordProfessional demeanorAbility to learn customer specific proceduresAbility to work well independentlyMath skills & computer skills, Bachelor's Degree a plusPrevious work experience in a food manufacturing and/or warehouse environment--requiredAbility to lift (up to 50 lbs), stand for extended periods of timePush, pull, squat, bend and reach above and below shoulder levelAbility to drive a forklift for extended periodsAttention to detail and able to work quickly and accuratelyBe able to work flexible hours and be willing to adapt to changes in instructions and--tasksWORK ENVIRONMENTThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee--encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of--this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, wet conditions and--slippery floor. The noise level in the work environment is low to moderate and employees have--the option to use hearing protection. There is also limited exposure to temperatures that rangefrom freezing to sub-freezing (coolers or freezers).
