Job Description:Direct Technology is looking for a Azure Cloud
Architect who will design and deliver cloud solutions to both
internal companies and external clients. This position requires
good working knowledge of computers, servers, and networking
infrastructure. Excellent communication, analytical, and
problem-solving skills are a must. We are seeking qualified
candidates who have experience installing, configuring, and
supporting all things Microsoft, VMware, as well as anything having
to do with Azure. An ideal candidate would have previous experience
delivering cloud solutions for a managed services provider, or
equivalent amount of IT project work throughout their career.
Essential Functions:
- Deployment of new solutions and enhancements to existing
solutions for our customers.
- Perform cost-benefit and return on investment analyses for
proposed solutions to aid management in making implementation
decisions.
- Conduct research on software and hardware products to justify
recommendations and to support purchasing efforts.
- Discuss ideas in user-friendly language to non-technical staff
and end users. Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define and understand business
requirements and translate them into technical solutions that
leverage the Azure Cloud platform.
- Develop technical architectures, blueprints, and roadmaps for
the implementation of Azure Cloud-based solutions.
- Define and implement Azure Cloud-based security and governance
frameworks, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best
practices.
- Ensure the scalability, reliability, and availability of Azure
Cloud-based solutions, leveraging Azure DevOps tools and practices
to automate the deployment and management of resources.
- Work closely with development teams to ensure that Azure
Cloud-based solutions meet performance and scalability
requirements.
- Evaluate and recommend new Azure Cloud-based services and tools
that can improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the
organization's operations.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to other members of
the team, including developers, engineers, and other
architects.
- Act as a subject matter expert on Azure Cloud-based solutions,
providing guidance and support to stakeholders across the
organization.
- Collaborate with other architects, developers, and engineers to
design and implement end-to-end solutions that meet business
requirements.
- Participate in the evaluation and selection of third-party
tools and services that can be integrated with Azure Cloud-based
solutions.
- Ensure that Azure Cloud-based solutions comply with applicable
regulatory and compliance frameworks, such as HIPAA, PCI, and
GDPR.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation for Azure
Cloud-based solutions, including architecture diagrams, deployment
plans, and operational procedures.
- Conduct technical assessments and audits of Azure Cloud-based
solutions to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in
Azure Cloud-based solutions, sharing knowledge and insights with
other team members.
- Provide technical guidance and support to other teams within
the organization, including operations, support, and development
teams.
- Collaborate with project managers to develop project plans and
timelines for the implementation of Azure Cloud-based
solutions.
- Ensure that Azure Cloud-based solutions meet the organization's
performance, security, and scalability requirements.
- Continuously monitor and optimize Azure Cloud-based solutions,
identifying and addressing any issues or bottlenecks that
arise.
- Develop and implement disaster recovery and business continuity
plans for Azure Cloud-based solutions.
- Work with vendors and third-party service providers to
integrate their services with Azure Cloud-based solutions.
- Participate in the development of Azure Cloud-based training
materials and documentation for end-users.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for Azure
Cloud-based solutions, working closely with the support team to
resolve issues.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders,
including business leaders, technical teams, and external
partners.
- Attend industry conferences and events to stay up-to-date with
the latest developments in Azure Cloud-based solutions.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, sharing knowledge
and insights with other team members to drive innovation and
excellence in Azure Cloud-based solutions.
- The Cloud Architect will be responsible for designing and
implementing solutions that adhere to the CIS Controls, a widely
accepted set of guidelines for securing enterprise IT systems. The
successful candidate should have knowledge of the CIS Controls and
ensure that Azure Cloud-based solutions comply with them.
Qualifying requirements:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or equivalent
work experience
- 5+ years of experience with design and implementation of cloud
services on Azure, including advanced services and features
- 5+ years of experience with APIs, performing commands through
CLI to perform implementations and third-party integrations
- Azure certifications required
- Strong scripting skills in languages such as ARM, PowerShell,
Terraform, Python, Ruby, or Bash
- Experience with container concepts and implementation
- Knowledge of IAM integration with Azure environments
- Experience aiding with operationalizing Azure cloud
environments using Azure native and third-party tools for
monitoring and management
- Ability to mix deep technical expertise with simple, everyday
language to deliver a story that is memorable, educational and
useful
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, excellent time management
skills and able to effectively prioritize tasks in a fast-paced,
high-volume, and evolving work environment
- Ability to approach customer and sales requests with a
proactive and consultative manner; listen and understand user
requests and needs and effectively deliver
- Comfortable managing multiple and changing priorities, and
meeting deadlines in an entrepreneurial environment
- Motivated self-starter who loves to troubleshoot and solve
challenging problems and feels comfortable working directly with
