Summary
This INFORMATION SECURITY SPECIALIST is located in a Cyberspace
Operations Unitand is part of the CA 216 SPCS.
This job is open to

Duties
THIS IS A T5 EXCEPTED SERVICE, TEMPORARY POSITION
Selectee may be non-competitively extended up to 4 years if/when
funding becomes available.
The primary purpose of the INFORMATION SECURITY SPECIALIST,
GS-0080-11, is to administer the Special Security Office (SSO) and
all Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI)-associated security
programs and measures and provides detailed research and analysis
on physical, computer, and personnel security.
May make additional selections within 90 days of eligible(s)
issuance.

Qualifications
INFORMATION SECURITY SPECIALIST, GS-0080-11: Must have at least one
year of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the GS-09
level, or equivalent pay band in other pay systems in the Federal
government. This experience may also have been obtained in the
private sector, but must demonstrate that it is comparable to the
GS grade indicated. Specialized experience may have been
demonstrated by performing duties such as: Experience as principal
advisor to the commander, reports on the organization's SSO and
SCI, physical, computer, information, personnel, and administrative
security; Experience providing oversight of unit and SSO security
self-inspections and presents detailed and comprehensive reports
with corrective action taken to the unit commander; Experience
administering the SCI security clearance program for all assigned
personnel, ensuring all required clearances are up-to-date and
completed.

Education
Substitution of Education for Specialized Experience: Ph.D. or
equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher
level graduate education leading to such a degree.
