direct reports with this position.POSITION SUMMARY: Under general
supervision, the Work Control Specialist receives, records, and
distributes work orders to service crews upon customers' requests.
Employees in this job class complete and process work orders, input
lists and records or other data points into an electronic format
following instructions and pre-established guidelines. This job
requires knowledge of basic office practices and procedures; and
the ability to provide customer service, operate a computer
keyboard, and assemble documents and data.TYPICAL DUTIES:1.
*Schedules service calls, dispatches service crew and relays
messages and special instructions to mobile crews and other
departments using radio or cellular telephone equipment.2. *Keeps
record of service calls and work orders, Collects, reviews, and
inputs data into a computer processing system; audits output data.
3. *Updates service order activity including labor, materials and
other miscellaneous data.4. *Contacts and follows up with customer
to insure satisfactory performance of service.5. *Analyzes
information before entering data to ensure costs are within budget,
logs are filled out correct and receipts are coded accurately.6.
*Produces records and reports.7. Performs other duties and special
projects as assigned.* Denotes Essential Job FunctionMINIMUM
QUALIFICATIONS:--- Experience in general office or customer service
preferred;--- Skill to operate a computer keyboard;--- Personal
computer literacy including word processing and spreadsheet
software applications is preferred--- Human relations skills to
maintain effective relationships with others and work in a team
environment;--- Fundamental mathematical ability including
addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division;--- Oral and
written communication skills to provide factual and procedural
information, and to understand and follow instructions;---
Flexibility to respond to changing work priorities and handle
multiple requests at the same time;--- Demonstrated common sense
skills.--- Ability to act responsively to customer inquiries and
requests; and escalate appropriately.EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:High
School Diploma or GEDCERTIFICATES OR LICENSES REQUIRED:The
following licenses or certificates may be required depending on
local, state and/or contract requirements:Not ApplicablePHYSICAL
REQUIREMENTS:Employees must have the ability to perform the
following physical demands for extended periods of time with or
without assistance:--- Utilizing keyboard --- Viewing
computer/screens --- Ability to communicate with students---
Bending and stooping--- Lifting up to 25 poundsWORK
ENVIRONMENT:Work is primarily performed at a customer's location in
an office / shop environment with limited privacy and some exposure
to background noise and/or noise from equipment. Transporting to
locations with the work site may be required. Employees may also be
