Goodleap's Product Development and User Experience team is responsible for delivering innovative, best-in-class solutions across various platforms to power world-positive lending. We are looking for a team manager to lead and grow a small team of UX professionals. The team manager will be on the leadership team of the VP and Head of Product Development, and play a crucial role in defining and achieving the vision of our digital platforms, including Goodleap's proprietary loan origination web and mobile app, investor portal and marketplace, and critical applications used by internal users. The UX Team Manager will establish UX best practices, and be a passionate advocate for the user experience, modern user interface, and intuitive user interaction design. We are looking for a passionate UX professional who truly embraces the ownership mindset and who obsesses over how to make the world a better place through world positive, friendly financing and investing.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Leadership/Supervisory Role - Lead and scale the UX team (3-4 team members currently). Mature, mentor, encourage, and support innovation within the team and across the organization. Tune our UX design and testing processes to ensure product execution, quality, and customer delight.
  • Governance - Establish process to evaluate new design components and incorporate them into the Design System. Partner with Engineering to continually build and enhance our UX component library. Develop Accessibility standards and policies.
  • Strategy - Set and lead ambitious and clear design vision for the digital platforms in our area by leveraging research (market/consumer trends, data, consumer experience) and working closely with senior leaders and alongside product. This leadership role will influence product strategy and help ensure results and outcomes. Articulate product goals and speak confidently about how your design work relates to the broader product vision and company objectives.
  • Collaboration - Create innovative solutions for a wide variety of product design challenges, including mobile and responsive web. Lead the design of new features and improve the existing experience. Work alongside engineers and product managers throughout all stages of the development cycle, deliver work that is user-friendly, aesthetically engaging, and produces results. Support client-facing employees in delivering for our clients (specifically web and mobile strategies) by integrating the end-to-end client experience.
  • Communication and Reporting - Regularly provide updates to senior leaders, stakeholders, partners. Effectively tailor communications to the appropriate audience to ensure broad alignment, awareness, and advocacy of the product. Communicates complex ideas, goals and problems in a way that is accessible even to those unfamiliar with the project.

Required Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

  • 7+ years experience in leading digital consumer engagement UX teams with a proven track record for driving to results/outcomes.
  • Strong foundational knowledge and application of UX principles and design process
  • Demonstrates andarticulatesa strong understanding of information architecture, multi-step and cross-platform flows, consistently considering the holistic user experience including potential states and use cases such as errors, successes, dead-ends.
  • Self-starter with outstanding organizational skills
  • Superior analytical skills
  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills in order to present, articulate, and defend research findings, design decisions, and formulate strategies in a way that stakeholders can relate to and understand.
  • Familiar with conducting and synthesizing qualitative user research and different data collection techniques
  • Thrives in a collaborative multi-disciplinary team environment
  • A passion for innovation and creative solutions while balancing them with brand standards and business requirements
  • Establish key metrics and monitor designs post-launch to determine whether feature is successful
  • Effective in partnering cross-functionally, cross-enterprise and work effectively with various levels of the organization as well as various personality types
  • For candidates outside of California, must be willing to travel a few times a year to one of our California offices
