There are no direct reports with this position.


Under limited supervision, the Instructional Designer designs and develops employee learning programs in align with company goals and training needs. Employees in this job class consult with subject matter experts to provide course content and training curriculum and develop and update course content. This job class requires knowledge in the use of authoring tools, and adult learning principles and styles.


    • Develops eLearning courses using authoring tools.
    • Manages the development/revisions of courses in collaboration with a variety of subject matter experts.
    • Works with trainers on developing virtual, instructor led and blended coursework trainings.
    • Communicates with translation resources and update courses into multiple languages including closed caption.
    • Uses other eLearning tools such as PowerPoint to customize courses.
    • Performs video editing, voice over and screen recording for on-line trainings.
    • Develops new courses using the most current curriculum development concepts.
    • Updates existing course materials to reflect changes or developments.
    • Maintains both professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and pursuing related professional development opportunities. 10. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

  • Experience working in an Instructional Design function preferred;
  • Demonstrated use of authoring tools, such as Adobe eLearning Suite products (Captivate, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, etc.), Articulate, FTB, Camtasia, HTML, Flash, etc.;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills a must;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office a must;
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; to make presentations and respond to inquiries by management, team, vendors and/or customers;
  • Human relation skills to build effective relationships with team and internal customers;
  • Intermediate to advanced computer literacy including knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database and presentation software;
  • Knowledge of business English including vocabulary, spelling, and correct grammatical usage and punctuation;
  • Mathematical skills to include the ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations;
  • Ability to establish priorities and solve a wide range of business problems;
  • Demonstrated customer service, common sense, problem solving and analytical skills;
  • Flexibility to respond to changing work priorities and handle numerous projects at the same time.


Bachelors- Business Administration or related field

A comparable combination of formal education and work experience will be considered.


The following licenses or certificates may be required depending on local, state and/or contract requirements:

Valid Driver's License


Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance:

  • Viewing computer screen/monitor
  • Keyboarding
  • Answering phone/making calls


Work is performed in a normal office environment with limited privacy and some exposure to background noise. Employees may be required to work in excess of 8 hours in a day and/or 40 hours per week.
