and 45 minutes from the Pacific Coast. Job Summary: Works alongside
the orthopedic surgeon managing fractures, (both non-operatively
and post-operatively), casting and splinting of fractures,
post-operatively managing shoulder and knee arthroscopies,
evaluating new injuries and conditions, and educating patients.
Provides immediate and emergency care, examination, assessment, and
diagnosis, as well as therapeutic intervention and rehabilitation
of injuries and conditions in the secondary school setting for all
student-athletes across every sport. Maintains presence at all
practices, home events, and certain away events. Acts as the
liaison between the high school and hospital to assist in
coordinating further care or general appointments for the
student-athletes as needed. Serves as the primary outreach high
school athletic trainer. Specializes in the delivery of quality
health care to student-athletes within the school. Performs patient
intake for medical and musculoskeletal conditions and physical
examination based on patient history and chief complaint.
Collaborates with involved parties to develop a coordinated care
plan and provides documentation on evaluations and progress. Job
Requirements: Education and Work Experience: Bachelor's Degree in
kinesiology or athletic training or equivalent combination of
education and experience from an accredited professional athletic
training education program: Required Master's Degree in kinesiology
or athletic training: Preferred Five years' related experience:
Preferred Licenses/Certifications: Certified Athletic Trainer:
Required Athletic Trainer (ATC): Required Facility Specific
License/Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQI
BLS) certification: Required Essential Functions: Provides
