Job Description
Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant needed in Grass Valley, CA. The primary focus of the Advanced Practitioner is to provide primary medical care to all patients of the clinic and contribute to the improvement of higher-quality, more cost-effective healthcare. The focus of this health center is to provide accessible, quality medical, dental, and behavioral health services through innovative, patient-centered care in their communities.

The Grass Valley-Nevada City area offer numerous amenities, including quaint downtown shopping districts, award-winning restaurants, friendly bars, pubs and local coffee shops, full-service grocery stores, a multi-screen theater, and even a few Starbucks. There are venues for performing and visual arts, including numerous art galleries. All of this, plus a rather easy commute — an average of about 20 minutes throughout the Western county, less if you live and work in Grass Valley. Grass Valley is about 45 minutes away from Auburn, Sacramento and Reno are a little more than an hour drive, and San Francisco is less than three hours away.

• Respond directly to telephone calls
  
• Examine the patient prior to issuing, modifying, or refilling prescription
  
• Perform minor laboratory procedures within guidelines
  
• Perform chest and extremity x-rays
  
• Provide adequate and informed referral to those patients requiring further care
  
• Assist when asked to review medical records
  
• Maintain accurate pharmacy records including dispensing of stock medicines and samples
  
• Maintain records on all patients seen and provide listing of those requiring follow-up
  
• Ability to effectively relay information to patients, families, and staff
  
• Work collaboratively with others towards improving organizational performance, goals, and objectives
  
• Participate in staff meetings

    Qualifications
    
    • 
      
    • Valid California license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
      
    • BLS certified
      
    • Familiarity with EMR's
      
    • X-ray technology license in California desirable
      
    • Ability to do minor laboratory procedures including urinalysis, wet mounts, draw blood, and do culture
      
    • Minor surgery skills required
      
    • Minimum 3 years of experience
