We're looking for someone to join our team as a Director, Network Development who: Serves as the operational lead for network design, build and analytics (development). Develops and directs provider networks to support Adventist Health and its value-based networks (ACO, CIN, IPA, AHP, AHPN) in creating high-performing networks to optimize adequacy and access for our members and payers. Works with corporate leaders and regional markets to ensure organizational goals and objectives are met as the organization designs, creates and administers networks with physicians, hospitals, health systems, clinics, and other providers to meet the needs of payers and members consistent with system and health division strategies. Supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned personnel using both professional and supervisory discretion and independent judgment. Works collaboratively across health, care and well-being divisions, in coordination with shared services and related areas to streamline and coordinate network development and provider engagement strategies, processes and infrastructure using a common set of operating principles aligned with system strategic objectives. Essential Functions:

  • Collaborates with peers, executive leadership, and teams across the health system to develop networks in coordination with market leadership and provider affiliates to optimize performance in value-based arrangements. Ensures provider networks are developed to meet the needs of system, in alignment with strategic objectives and key performance indicators. Ensures that newly developed and existing provider networks have appropriate composition of providers and meet network access requirements as applicable. Ensures optimal use of resources, creating sustainable and scalable tools, processes and training for the operational area, including provider roster and contract management.
  • Designs and directs Clinically Integrated Network (CIN), Accountable Care Organization (ACO) and Independent Physician Association (IPA), collectively referred to as value-based networks--expansion. Coordinates value-based network activities between system division and market leaders. Facilitates and attends value-base network boards and/or governing/operating councils and committees. Supports networks, and market leaders in which networks reside, in achieving membership growth, quality, cost and utilization, member and provider experience performance targets. Prepares professional presentations for internal and external audiences, including various board and system meetings, as well as data analysis in preparation for such presentations and reports.
  • Works with key physicians and stakeholders of the value-based networks to ensure timely and accurate communications. Oversees communications across markets and networks to share best practices. Coordinates and communicates performance metric reporting with networks. Coordinates and facilitates Joint Operating Committee meetings with key physician and market stakeholders. Establishes provider contracts on behalf of Adventist Health and its value-based networks in collaboration with Management Services Organization (MSO) and payer partners.
  • Develops strong provider relationships and supports provider engagement to ensure provider satisfaction and retention across the system. Creates processes for system and local market physician and administrative leaders to engage and inform network development, including affiliation, partnership and acquisition opportunities. Coordinates with IPA and other value-based network clinical and operational leaders to generate strategies to improve network performance and optimize provider compensation (financial alignment) strategies to achieve target key performance indicators. Develops strategy to build, grow, and sustain relationships with physician leaders and leveraging relationships to engage, implement, and sustain health system priorities.
  • Collaborates with teams across the health system to ensure high quality internal and external provider reporting and engagement tools are developed and implemented. Leads, recruits, develops, scales, and maintains a high performing team across multiple geographic locations and fosters a collaborative and inclusive team culture.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned. You'll be successful with the following qualifications: Education:
    • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Required
    • Master's Degree in business administration or healthcare administration: Preferred Work Experience:
      • Seven years technical experience in leading or working with Managed Care and/or Business/Network development: Preferred
      • Five years leadership experience: Preferred Adventist Health is committed to the safety and wellbeing of our associates and patients.
